The Logic

A primary argument against animal testing is that humans aren't similar enough to animals to warrant animal testing being very effective. However, humans and animals share many similarities. In fact, the rat is a very common medical test subject because humans and rate share very similar DNA and genomes.

A common protest of animal testing is the amount of animals that die in labs. Although, one must consider the luves that those animals are saving. Not only do animals help with cures and vaccines for humans, but they also help to discover cures and vaccines for fellow animals.

There are many foundations, committies, and associations that are in support of animal testing. Many of these groups are animal support groups, like the SPCA. However, they also work to make sure that animal research is ethical. You can do this too.

The Foundation for Biomedical Research is always looking for donations, not only to assist in research, but also to ensure ethical research practices. You might be able to find an ethical group in your own area as well.
